Cleaning the Microwave

Here is an easy way to clean a microwave, an idea I got from a television show featuring two English women who helped people clean up.

First you start with a dirty microwave...

Then take two lemons. Cut them up into quarters and put them in a pie plate or other container with some water.

Place in microwave and heat for 5 minutes.

Open microwave and look for steam. If it is warm enough, there should be a lot of steam. You will probably need to heat the lemons again, for about 3-5 minutes.
Once you have enough steam (as in above photo), you can safely remove the lemons and with a damp cloth, wipe down all surfaces. I have found this method to loosen the food.

Voila! You have a clean microwave!
