Dark Chocolate Caramel Iced Cappuccino

Today was a gorgeous day and I felt inspired to try to make another iced cappuccino.  I have been having some fun with various attempts and after trying a delicious dark chocolate mochachillo at Blendz on the weekend, I was ready to try adding some dark chocolate.

Ingredients
1/2 cup half-and-half cream
1/2 cup 1% milk
6-9 pumps caramel syrup (the kind used in lattes)
2 tsp. instant espresso powder or instant coffee
2 Tb. cocoa
1-2 Tb. dark chocolate (optional)
10 ice cubes
Whipping cream (optional)
chocolate sauce (optional)

Method
In a blender combine the half-and-half cream, milk, caramel syrup, instant espresso powder, cocoa, dark chocolate (if using) and ice cubes.  Cover and blend until mixture is smooth.  Taste and adjust amount of ingredients.  Pour into two large glasses.  Add whipped cream and chocolate sauce, if desired.

In a coffee shop one would probably pay about $10 for two drinks this size.
Making this at home allows you to make it your way for a lot less.
Have fun experimenting!
