Oven Hot Dip

This delicious dip recipe was given to me from my friend Chrissy. The original recipe comes from Jean Pare of Company's Coming Fame. This dip can be made ahead or used right away, making it perfect for entertaining.

Ingredients:
8 -oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/2 - 1 tsp. chili powder, optional
1/2 cup each finely chopped red and green pepper
1/4 cup finely chopped green onion
1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar
1/2 cup grated mozzarella
Mix first 8 oz. cream cheese, 1/2 cup pizza sauce, 1/2 tsp. oregano, 1/4 tsp. garlic powder, 1/4 tsp. basil, 1/4 tsp. onion powder, and 1/2 - 1 tsp. chili powder. Turn into a 9 - inch ungreased glass pie plate. Spread evenly.

Sprinkle with red and green pepper (1/2 cup each), green onion (1/4 cup) and cheeses (1/2 cup cheddar, 1/2 cup mozza).

At this point, this can be covered with plastic wrap and stored in the fridge. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Makes 3 cups of dip. Serve with taco chips, crackers, and/or vegetables.
