Cheesy Drop Biscuits

Thank you Connie, for requesting this recipe, a family favorite of ours. It comes from Robin Hood.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour
1 Tb. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup butter
1 1/2 cups shredded old cheddar cheese
1 green onion, chopped
1 1/4 cups milk

1. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Using two knives, a pastry blender or your fingers, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in cheese and green onion.

2. Add milk all at once, stirring to make a soft, sticky dough. Divide dough into 12 portions, about 1/3 cup each. Drop onto prepared baking sheet.

3. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until edges are golden. Serve warm or cool.

Cook's notes:
I use parchment paper on my baking sheets and find this is a great product.
I like to use an ice cream scoop when putting the dough on to the baking sheets. It results in every biscuit being the same size. Also, you can use an ice cream scoop for cookie dough.
