There are so many options for candy at Christmas time. Do you like the combination of orange and chocolate? If so, you may want to try chocolate covered orange peel. This is good, but it does take some time. Another tasty option is Almond Roca. I have a great recipe from my Auntie Dawn. It is fairly easy to make, but you do have to be aware of the temperature and a candy thermometer helps greatly. If you are interested in something less time consuming, consider the following:
Peppermint Bark: I melted white chocolate (I used the kind found in bulk bins), added some peppermint extract to taste, spread out onto a parchment lined tray, and sprinkled with crushed candy canes. Cool to set and then break into chunks.
For these tasty treats, I melted dark chocolate and dropped small amounts onto parchment paper. Then I embedded dried cherries and roasted almonds. Done! Just like that :) Let set and then store for later (after trying one or two...).
Enjoy!
