Egg Nog Latte

Like many things, there seem to be two camps when it comes to egg nog.  You either love it or hate it.  As you may have guessed, I happen to love it, especially when it is in a latte.  And apparently my love of egg nog goes back to my early childhood.  Do any of you remember seeing a powdered egg nog on the market many years ago?  I remember having instant powdered egg nog in the first home we lived in when I was a child, so that would have been about 34 years ago.  I can still remember climbing up on the counter to reach the egg nog.  I must remember to ask my parents about this to see if they remember it.

This latte is easy to make and competes quite well (in my opinion) with what you can purchase at a certain coffee chain.  There are really three ingredients:  2/3 cup Egg Nog (your chosen variety), 1/3 cup milk (I use 1%), and 1/2 cup coffee (I used instant de-caf, but you can choose whatever you prefer).

Make coffee according to package directions.  Pour milk and egg nog into microwavable bowl.  Heat in microwave for approximately 2 minutes or until heated through.

Pour egg nog/milk mixture into a magic bullet mixer and mix, using smaller blade.  If you do not have a magic bullet, you can use a hand blender, frother, or pour the mixture into a jar with a lid and shake until frothy.

Pour egg nog/milk mixture into hot coffee

 Sprinkle with nutmeg (optional)

Enjoy!
